Lauren Alaina has had Some of the Best and Worst Times

For Lauren Alain, success hasn’t always been rainbows and butterflies. She had vocal chord surgery in 2014. Her doctor told her she would have serious health problems in the future if she didn’t deal with the health issue soon.

The American Idol Runner sat down with Ashley Eicher and Hunter Kelly on their podcast, “All our Favorite People Podcast.” Lauren opened up to them about something for Crackle Barrel, and they paid her in “gold cards.” She would eat at the restaurant for just about every single meal for six months because she was broke. Her manager even gave her some cushion money to live off of until she could get some cash.

Somebody also stole a lot of money from Alaina, and she couldn’t do anything for six months. After getting everything paid off, she had a negative $350 in her bank. She didn’t want to call her parents because she was prideful.

In January 2019, Alaina announced that she and her fiancé were calling off their wedding. They had a very public relationship, and people kept asking when the wedding was going to be. Alex and Lauren knew it was right and it wasn’t going to happen.

They had been together for seven years, and they were all each other knew. The Road Less Traveled singer told Kelly and Eicher that they now have different goals and that she will always love him. When the couple called off the wedding, fans thought it happened that day. It happened before their announcement, but they were trying to figure out the best way to say it.

Last year, The “Ladies of the 90s” singer lost her stepdad. He had cancer and got treatment from Vanderbilt. During that time, he stayed at Alaina’s house and watched his body diminish. That was the hardest thing she’s ever done. Her stepdad passed on a Sunday. The funeral was on a Wednesday, and she hoped on the bus to go tour with Blake Shelton on Thursday.

It hasn’t all been bad for Lauren. She now owns a house and has never been dropped by her label, even though she lost six singles on the radio. She has started a parody band, Chain of Fools. They are planning on making music videos of them. They have an Applebee’s song that is based on The Black Eyed Peas’ song, “Imma Be.”

While at a show in Florida, Alaina hosted an afterparty for everybody whom she’s touring with. Blake is a terrible beer pong player. He is the worst player she has ever seen!

Jon Anderson said she’s destined to be a big star and he watches her set every night.

Some of the topics that were discussed during the interview, included backhanded compliments, Alaina’s single, “Ladies of the 90s,” which is a response to the lack of women on the country music radio, and that she had her dream because of Shania Twain, Martina McBride, and Faith Hill.
